Alternatives

Commenter "Anon" provides food for thought. In response to SecurityFirst he asks "what is a better alternative?" (to the SEIU?)

There may be several.

I'd like to hear from "Anon" or any other commenter what he or she would consider important in an alternative.

  1. Ahhh... There's the rub noble prince. Whether'tis nobler in character to suffer the slings and arrows of an outrageous union, or to take arms against a sea of unresponsive, incompetant, and corrupt bureaucrats. And by opposing, end them...hee, hee. Speaking metaphorically of course.

What would be important in an alternative? Simply enough, a union which did not exhibit the flaws (slings and arrows) which we all find evident in SEIU. Well, I'd like Santa Claus to bring me a new BMW for Christmas too, but I'm not holding my breath.

From what little I know, all big unions are subject to the same criticisms. So if you are of the opinion (as I am, for reasons I would be happy to elaborate on later) that we are better off with union representation, than without; it becomes a matter of with which devil do we dance (as if we have a choice). And if we decide to dance with the devil bureaucrats, isn't it just a little bit disingenuous of us to rail endlessly (on the slings and arrows) to the point of hysteria, if we are unwilling to become active (as in members) and stick our nose in the fray (take arms?) and attempt to effect change from with-in?

Just one persons perspective, and no, I'm not a union officer, or shop steward.

  2. The only alternative to SEIU and to covenant Aviation security is to become federal TSO's .We need to push all the concerned parties to federalize SFO .
We have that statement we sent you ( and thank you for posting it) , now all we need to do is send a copy to SFO airport commission, the office of the Mayor of San francisco, TSA headquarter ( attention J.Pistole, the chairman of the committee on Homeland security , the chaiman of the sub-committee on transportation security ( aviation security) .And let's make our issues and concerns heard by everybody and question the benefit of this joke called the SPP .
This is my opinion concerning an alternative to to SEIU & Co ( meaning Covenant Aviation ).Otherwise we will continue complaining about our situation , about how we are mistreated ,disrespected and criticising Covenant and SEIU for the next decade .
